Despite the cold temperature and the snow and ice all around, Spring has arrived at Harvest Moon! Our first local greens, Farm Farm local salad greens and spinach, will brighten up your mood as well as your palate. Before we know it, CSA shares and more local produce will hit the shelves. We’re also getting into the spirit of the season with the Garden Day Workshop we are co-hosting with Otten Brothers Greenhouse this Saturday from 10 AM- 3PM. We hope you bring the whole family out to meet local growers and learn from their experience.
You may have noticed the “Under Construction” signs around our Deli area recently. We are in the process of relaunching our Deli- with a renewed focus on flavors and freshness. We are expanding our delightful Bakery offerings, including a new Lemon Loaf that puts ordinary pound cake to shame, and new wheat free and vegan options. In addition, we are gearing up for new Meal Solutions in our Grab & Go area. We are producing side as well as dinner salads (complete with dressing) and working on new entrees that you can take home and pop in the oven. We welcome your ideas and suggestions for entrees, salads and sides you’d like us to prepare for you. Keep your eyes on the Deli space as Mari, Kristina and their team bring it to a new level this spring!
There’s a lot more going on at your Co+op this Spring, including displays of work by local artists and a Circular Loom Knitting class. Be sure to stop in often and check us out on Facebook to see what’s happening.
Yours in Co+operation,
Susan Anderson
